Our investment in the environment

What we have achieved so far.

Since June 2012, BON PASTAIO has been producing its own electricity with a 200 kWp solar power system. With an area of ​​1000 m² of solar modules, approximately 35% of the total annual electricity demand can be covered, and around 120 tons of CO₂ emissions can be avoided per year.
In addition to our own solar energy, we have been sourcing exclusively green electricity (solar, wind and biomass) from the local energy supplier since 2021. This already makes a significant contribution to environmentally friendly and sustainable energy production.
All production processes and operating techniques are continuously being revised to ensure a positive environmental impact. As early as 2009, we invested in state-of-the-art blast freezing technology and installed energy-efficient, environmentally friendly CO2/R723 refrigeration systems. With significantly reduced electricity consumption and CO2 emissions, we can guarantee the best possible and most climate-friendly production.
To ensure resource-efficient operation, the entire hot water and heating supply of the BON PASTAIO production facility is sourced 100% from heat recovery from the deep-freeze and shock-freeze systems.
We also place great importance on ecological sustainability in our use of water: Through consistent optimization of our production and cleaning processes, we have been able to keep our water consumption constant despite a recent 40% increase in production.
The energy efficiency of our buildings and technical infrastructure is continuously monitored and improved. As part of these measures, the lighting throughout the entire facility has been converted to LED technology. This has reduced energy consumption in this area by approximately 30%.

Wherever possible, we source a large portion of our raw materials – especially durum wheat semolina – from regional or Central German farms, including the Saale and Dresden mills. Our products are fundamentally free of declarable additives, meaning they contain neither flavor enhancers, preservatives, artificial colors, nor hydrogenated fats (e.g., palm oil), nor genetically modified ingredients.

40% of our employees' vehicle fleet is hybrid. All forklifts in the company are electric.

We offer our employees a free, communal lunch including drinks. Work clothes and their cleaning are also provided by the company. We offer fair wages and reward commitment and loyalty! Furthermore, a debit card for our permanent employees makes it very easy to implement benefit and bonus payments such as non-cash benefits.

To maintain our high quality and hygiene standards, we place great emphasis on hygiene training, which must be conducted regularly online in accordance with the latest standards. Employee training and further education are arranged as needed or upon request. BON PASTAIO is a training company for the field of "Food Technology Specialist".
